Late last week, I wrote this piece, http://bit.ly/lNmrGt advocating optimism in the NBA labor situation, and a few hours later NBA Commissioner David Stern announced that there would be a lockout.
Oddly, I’m still optimistic. Both sides are far apart on the mechanisms for a split of the revenues, but they aren’t far apart on what that split will actually be. A short lockout doesn’t derail the momentum and rising popularity that the league has had in the last few years. So, there’s still time.
