After their game on Sunday the 12th against the Boston Celtics, the Chicago Bulls will have played 30 games, nearly half of their 66 game slate, and more remarkably, two-thirds of those contests will have been on the road. The team opened the season with four games with a four game in six night California road trip, it is presently on a 10 game in 15 day trip. This hasn’t affected their standing as they are 10-5 on the road, the best mark in the Association. Among playoff caliber teams, only the Indiana Pacers, the Bulls division rival, have played such a preponderance of games on away from home.
The takeaway from this is that if the Bulls continue to win at this kind of clip on the road, then they will be a near lock for the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference. Not that that mattered last season but it’s always better to have game one and game seven of a playoff series on your home floor.
